Bandos Diving Medicine Course

Course objective

The course objective is to train doctors in diving medicine providing competency in:

• Fitness to dive examinations of recreational and professional divers

• Diving injuries (pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment)

• Diving and hyperbaric physiology to a level qualifying for advisory services to recreational and professional divers as well as diving schools and diving companies.

The course is directed towards physicians searching competency in these areas. Much of the contents is, however, equally usable for nurses, paramedics and the "advanced" diver.  Students in these categories are welcome to apply and will be considered on an individual basis.

The course is based on a Scandinavian initiative, and the majority of students to previous courses has come from the Scandinavian countries.  All teaching material is, however, written in English and lectures will be held in English if non-Scandinavian students participate.
